राजस्थान किसान संघर्ष समिति
Rajasthan Kisan Sangharsh Samiti is a non-political registered organization of farmers. After the success of the cumin movement in 1989, Mr. Vikram Singh Poonasa, who dedicated everything to the farmers, formed the Rajasthan Kisan Sangharsh Samiti (RKSS) in 2008. In which the contribution of Late Shri Ram Singh Ji Siyana, Late Shri Chail Singh Ji Lur and Suresh Ji Vyas was important.
Farmers under the banner of Rajasthan Kisan Sangharsh Samiti did a big farmer’s movement in Bhinmal district Jalore in 2013-2014 against the increase in electricity rates in the state, finally the government had to be forced and withdraw the increased electricity rates.
In 2014-2015, there was a big movement against gravel mafia in Bhinmal, Jalore and almost entire Rajasthan.
There is no drinking water and water for irrigation in three districts of western Rajasthan, Jalore, Barmer and Sirohi, here the underground water level has gone down a lot. The desert expansion is increasing in the area without water. In view of this water problem, Rajasthan Kisan Sangharsh Samiti (RKSS) has been fighting since 2010 to get Mahi basin water in this area.
The water of Mahi river on which the farmers of Rajasthan have the right, Rajasthan is not getting this water, and Gujarat is using it and the rest of the water overflows and flows in vain in the Gulf of Khambhat. For this RKSS Mahi Muheem is running the movement. In which the committee has organized more than 100 Kisan Sabhas, more than 280 Nukkad Sabhas and are continuing continuously.
The Rajasthan Kisan Sangharsh Samiti obtained more than 1795 copies by applying more than 121 RTIs to the Government of Rajasthan and Honorable State President Mr. Badridan Narpura in the Government of Gujarat for the real information about the agreement between the Government of Rajasthan and Gujarat in the Mahi-Kadana Dam Project. On the basis of these, RKSS filed a writ petition in the Hon’ble High Court on March 19, 2021 for the rights of the farmers and the future of the area. In view of the earlier agreement and the interests of the farmers, the Hon’ble Court has directed the Rajasthan Government on November 18, 2022, to provide water to Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi by diverting the wasted water from the Mahi river. And the government has also included it in the 2023-24 budget announcement. The main objective of RKSS is to make Mahi water available in Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi. Which we will die only after completing it.
